One person is dead under suspicious circumstances after a house fire in Centreville, N.S., said an RCMP news release Sunday.
Kings District RCMP, Kentville Volunteer Fire Department and EHS responded to reports that a structure was on fire on Anthony Avenue in Centreville around 3 a.m., Saturday morning. First responders found a house engulfed in flames on arrival, said the release. Fire crews extinguished the fire.
A deceased person was discovered inside the home during the investigation that followed. Investigators believe the death and the fire are suspicious in nature based on their early findings, said the release.
The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit is leading the ongoing investigation. They are assisted by Kings District RCMP, Annapolis District RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, the Office of the Fire Marshal, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
