P.E.I. Premier Dennis King announces resignation
The premier of Prince Edward Island is stepping down.
Dennis King made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.
His resignation as premier and Progressive Conservative leader will take effect on Friday.
An interim leader and premier is expected to be announced later on Thursday.
King has served as the 33rd premier of P.E.I. since 2019.
