A Halifax police officer has been cleared of using excessive force during an arrest in Dartmouth.
SiRT says it was December 11 when officers were called to Wyse Road after a man wanted by police was spotted.
He was wanted for several offences including a stabbing.
The man ran away, until an officer caught up to him and a fight broke out.
The police officer then hit the man in the face to gain control, and other officers helped out.
The suspect was taken into custody and hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken collarbone.
