Nova Scotia is ready to respond to U.S. tariffs.
Measures announced last month are going into effect today, including the removal of American liquor from NSLC stores.
The province will also double the fees for American commercial vehicles at the Cobequid Pass.
Premier Tim Houston says President Donald Trump is a short-sighted man who yields his power just for the sake of it, with no consideration for Canadians or Americans.
He says they’re also going to limit access to provincial procurement for American businesses, and look to cancel existing contracts.
Houston says they’re going to take any steps they can to support Nova Scotians during this incredibly difficult time.
