It will soon be easier to access the workers compensation board in person.
WCB Nova Scotia says after 50 years of having its head office location in the south end of Halifax, it is moving to Dartmouth this fall.
The new site has better accessibility, more free parking and better virtual services.
CEO Karen Adams says in a news release, they are doing things differently now and the new location will reflect that.
“When Nova Scotians need to see us in person, they will no longer have to fight against downtown traffic or parking to get to us – they can access us easily from Dartmouth or continue to connect with us virtually as many of them already do,” says Adams.
Adams adds, it is getting too costly to stay in downtown Halifax considering the real estate market, renovation costs as well as development and planning.
The current WCB building also needs millions of dollars in renovations.
There is also less foot traffic with an increase in virtual services.
The new space is move-in ready.
