todayApril 27, 2025

Background

The Chester-St. Margaret’s area is receiving more than four million dollars in new provincial funding to support key infrastructure projects.

The Municipality of the District of Chester is set to receive $3,968,822 for renewal work at the Village of Chester’s wastewater treatment plant. Another $242,000 is being allocated to accessibility upgrades at the Chester Lido Pool.

Chester-St. Margaret’s MLA Danielle Barkhouse says investments like these help strengthen communities and prepare them for the future.

The projects are part of the Growth and Renewal for Infrastructure Development (GRID) program, which funds up to 50 percent of eligible costs for municipal projects. The program supports work such as water and wastewater upgrades, disaster mitigation, and accessibility improvements across Nova Scotia.
