Norther Pulp wants to extend its creditor protection again.
The company has been under protection since June of 2020, when it closed the mill in Pictou County.
It had been dumping waste water into nearby Boat Harbour.
The government gave them until 2020 to create a treatment plant that followed environmental standards.
Northern Pulp says they want more time to look for a potential sale of its assets, in case it is not feasible to build another mill.
They hope they court will give them until July 18.
The hearing with Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act court is set for May 2.
