One man is dead after a shooting in Dartmouth, Thursday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a report of gun shots around 12p.m. in the area of Highfield Park Drive and True North Crescent.

Officers found a man in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being treated as a homicide and the identity of the victim will not be released until after an autopsy.

The investigation is in its early stages and more details will be provided once available.
