Province to allow more commercial vehicles, modular buildings

todayMay 30, 2025

Background

It will soon be easier for commercial trucks to enter Nova Scotia.

The province says they’re removing more interprovincial trade barriers to grow the economy.

This includes allowing more types of vehicles to support the movement of goods and services.

Legislative changes are coming this fall to the new Traffic Safety Act.

The government is also amending building code regulations to allow factory built modular buildings that meet national codes to be installed in the province.

In a release, Premier Tim Houston says they want to see free trade nationwide, and they are leading by removing more barriers.
