A forest fire in Halifax County.

It’s happening in the Ostrea Lake area, according to RCMP.

They say residents of Ostrea Lake Road from the 600 block and adjoining roads to Hwy 7 have been evacuated.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.

Halifax Professional Firefighters say it’s an out of control blaze and homes are being threatened, the head of the fire is moving towards Hwy 7.

According to Firefighters of Nova Scotia on Facebook, Halifax firefighters responded around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

They say a DNRR helicopter and ground crews are also on scene.
