Background

A second person was found dead after a rockslide near Bow Glacier Falls in Banff National Park.

Parks Canada says the slide happened around 1 p.m. Thursday, about 37 kilometres north of Lake Louise. Emergency crews from Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, and STARS Air Ambulance responded.

A 70-year-old woman from Calgary, Alta., was found dead at the scene on Thursday.

A second body was recovered on Friday morning, according to the RCMP.

Their identity cannot be revealed yet because police are notifying their next of kin.

The others were injured during the rockslide, but police say they are in a stable condition.

The RCMP says there are no other people reported missing and no other unidentified vehicles at the Bow Lake trailhead.
