The number of Canadians travelling to the U.S. continues to decline.
According to StatsCan, 1.7 million Canadians made a return trip by car in July, that’s down from 2.6 million in the same month last year.
That’s a nearly 37 percent drop in vehicle travel, and over a quarter drop in air travel.
The numbers have been declining for six straight months.
Many believe it’s because of U.S. president Donald Trump’s tariffs, and statements about Canada becoming the 51st state.
The highest number of U.S. visitors to Canada last month was July 3, just before the Independence Day long weekend.
