RCMP have arrested a man in Lower Northfield following a shelter-in-place alert issued Tuesday afternoon.

Officers had been searching in the area near Northfield Road as part of a wanted person investigation. The public was warned not to leave secure locations, pick up hitchhikers, or share police locations.

Police say the man was safely taken into custody around 2:15 p.m., and officers are now leaving the area.
