Human remains that were found in the fall have been positively identified as Devon Marsman.

The 16-year-old went missing in Spryfield in February 2022.

In June of that year, police started treating the investigation as a suspicious disappearance.

The case was added to the province’s Major Crimes Rewards Program with $250,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

In September 2024 police announced Marsman was a victim of a homicide and human remains found were sent to the province’s medical examiner to be identified.

Results confirmed this week that they belong to Marsman.

Police say the location of where the remains were discovered have not been released.

Four people are facing charges in relation to the case.

Chelsey Herritt, 26, faces charges including accessory after the fact to murder and indignity to human remains.

Emma Maria Meta Casey, 23, faces charges including accessory after the fact to murder, indignity to human remains and obstructing justice.

Treyton Alexander Marsman, 26, is facing second-degree murder charges, indignation to human remains and obstructing justice.

A 20-year-old man is also facing obstructing justice charges as well as accessory after the fact. However, he was a youth at the time, so his name is under a publication ban.

Police continue to keep Devon’s family and friends in their thoughts.
